If you find yourself in need of help, especially during times of crisis, it’s crucial to know where to seek assistance. Urgent care may be necessary depending on the severity of the situation. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive list of available resources to provide support and aid in times of need.
In urgent situations, it’s important to consider reaching out to the crisis team or contacting 111 for immediate assistance. Every local area has its crisis team number for you to contact, and after a TRIAGE assessment, patients with mental health difficulties can be referred to the crisis team for further support. Additionally, the 24/7 Samaritans helpline is available for individuals feeling suicidal or in desperate need of help. This helpline can serve as a vital support link, particularly during nighttime when only a few helplines are operational.
For emotional support, SANE offers helplines open from 4 pm to 10 pm, 365 days a year. You can reach out to SANE for emotional support at 0300 304 7000. These are just a few examples of the help available after 5:30 pm. If you ever feel suicidal or have the urge to harm yourself, it’s crucial to dial 999 immediately for emergency assistance.
During daytime hours, it’s beneficial to make an appointment with your doctor if you’re feeling unwell. Meeting with your doctor provides an opportunity to discuss your feelings and circumstances. Your doctor may assist in the form of medication, referrals to mental health services, or recommendations for suitable therapies. There are numerous helplines open during the day, and it’s important to utilize these valuable resources when needed. Remember, you are not alone, and there are caring professionals ready to provide support and assistance. Our list does miss some important resources and we continue to add more frequently.
